In the world of regional readers and writers festivals, everything is relatively same same. When the Tauranga Arts Festival Trust approached us, they were looking to differentiate themselves from the pack. We ditched the overused promotional photographs and started writing. Our goal was to get people talking, so we created a campaign that banked on people having an opinion. For those with an open mind, we offered the Escape Festival as a place where that opinion could be debated, learned about, or even changed.
